Woot! Campaign
Client: Woot! / woot.com
Notes: Full campaign including surprise media.
Woot! is an online only store that simply sells one product a day at incredible prices until they run out of product. They are able to cut great deals on items, but according to their FAQ they make very little profit, explaining why they have so little in the way of advertising themselves. Woot! has good branding and a great service, but needs to branch out to reach a wider audience that simply hasnt heard of the company.
This full campaign for Woot! utilizes their arguably greatest strength, the humorous text written for each day's item. A series of four print ads would run in magazines such as PCWorld or Print Magazine, and would utilize thermochromatic ink as a spot color in order to highlight the small window of time in which a product is available.
The campaign emphasizes their slogan, "One day. One deal." The iPhone application is branded to fit and could easily tie in with the entire woot.com family.
The mousepad is a concept item using a green ink as a thermochromatic mask. When a person uses the mouse, the warmth from their wrist would reveal the yellow message, reminding them to check website (conveniently, they are already at their computer using the mouse).
