Free Rice, or freerice.com, is a not for profit website dedicated to helping humanity help themselves. Those who visit the website play a game to increase their vocabulary, and every answer they get correct gives grains of rice to be sent to poverty-stricken countries. With many people playing, this amount quickly adds up, but at its launch it had virtually no audience.

Solution:
The biggest problem Free Rice had to overcome was the lack of publicity, especially since the site had no money to spend on advertising. This bright and eye-catching poster was designed to raise awareness, using imagery that is associated with Free Rice, such as the wooden bowl, the multiple choice question, and the color choice. Rice grains made out of actual vocabulary words are the main visual draw of this poster.
